Murduck Photo No. 0017 - The Manor Grounds, Exmouth, circa 1906
The Manor Grounds (now known as The Manor Gardens) were leased to the Exmouth Town Council in 1896, and underwent refurbishment and enlargement in 1905. This image shows one area of the Grounds, possibly on a sunny day (whether spring or fall is difficult to say - I lean more to fall because there are some leaves still on some of the trees, and the man and the seated woman appear to be wearing heavier coats).
Although it's not been seen, this particular postcard has been reported as 'postmarked in 1906'. This image shows the 'standard' stock postcard white letter manuscript attribution "MURDUCK PHOTO" at the bottom right, with the subject on the left.
This image was found at https://www.facebook.com/groups/iloveexmouth/posts/1842205389130568/ in March, 2023, having apparently been posted by Stewart Hill on 4 September 2017. Norman Goodman apparently provided some additional information later.
