A Real Photo Postcard
Murduck Photo No. 0011 - The Cliffs, Exmouth
This real photo postcard shows The Cliffs, which are situated east of Exmouth, on the seashore just beyond Sandy Bay Beach. Another photograph (see Murduck Photo No. 0030 -The Cliffs at Exmouth) shows the cliffs from the opposite direction, at almost sea level.
This card shows the usual 'MURDUCK PHOTO' white-letter manuscript attribution along the bottom, to the right of the subject name, which is typical of Murduck's stock postcards. The card shows a couple of 'age spots', and some slight damage along the bottom edge and lower right corner. The entire image shows evidence of exposure to light, rendering the image probably less sharp and clear that it might have originally been.
The top and left side of the original card have been trimmed from the digital image presented here.
The reverse side of this postcard has not been seen, but when sent to me it was noted to have been postally used, with a 1913 postmark.
This image was very kindly provided by Ian Wright of Exmouth, in 2006.
